The Bee Hotel transitioned from a large management company, to Retro Hospitality in 2024 with a focus on enhancing the guest experience, optimizing operational efficiencies, and reinforcing the hotel’s connection to the Danville community.

Key areas of focus include refining guest services, strengthening local partnerships, implementing strategic marketing efforts, and maintaining the hotel’s unique blend of modern comfort and historic charm.

Project Overview:

Nestled in the heart of Danville’s Historic River District, The Bee Hotel is a testament to thoughtful preservation and modern hospitality. Originally constructed in 1899 and expanded in 1921, the property once housed the Danville Register and Danville Bee newspapers, serving as a hub of information and community connection. Today, this storied past is woven into a boutique hotel experience that blends historic charm with contemporary comfort. Opened in 2020, The Bee features 47 stylishly designed rooms, inviting common spaces, and a stunning rooftop with sweeping city views and a cozy firepit. With its vibrant atmosphere and deep local roots, The Bee is more than just a place to stay—it’s a reflection of Danville’s past, present, and future.
